Arthur and Martha flew to Calgary from SFO and rented a teal blue Ford Windstar. While we waited for Ben and Mia and the boys, Arthur and I went to ___ Market and walked around the stalls and went to see a pair of IMAX movies: “Bears” which was not great but OK, and “The Human Body” which was very good. Picked up the kids at 11pm at the Calgary airport and drove to Banff and tumbled into bed. Saw evidence of fires along the way! |

Sat 8/16/2003 We went on the Banff gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain. Mia and Ben went up together and smooched, while the kids rode with us. It was pretty cloudy from all the smoky fires. The Ranger told us that this was the worst fire season since 1935 because of the draught and heat. |

(still Sat 8/16/2003) After lunch we took a long (12km) walk on the Sundance trail and Marsh Loop near Banff. |

Dinner at Giorgio’s Restaurant, which was good, but full of pasta and pricey. Then a game of dominoes, and Aron and Natan slept with us so Mia and Ben could honeymoon a bit. | ||
