Still at Jenifer and Franci's ranch. Had a great brunch, including baked apples that Aron made, plus blueberry pancakes with gooseberry syrup! Franci is a great cook! She made all the bread, even including the hamburger rolls we had last night. It is raining today, a very heavy downpour, which is a good thing for Montana since they've been in a 5-year drought and need all the water they can get. With the rain outside, we were all cozy inside and played Oh Hell and Pinochle and talked and listened to the rain drumming on the roof. It was great to have a quiet day where we did nothing but sit around. And so, to bed. |

Sunday, August 22nd, 2004 Day 21
Dear Journal, Today we woke up to the sound of rain, which was disappointing, but we had fun playing Oh-!!*&%@K and eating a bunch of blueberry pancakes with gooseberry syrup and cooked apples. Then we learned Pinochle, and played some hands. I also went up a trapdoor to a lookout room, which was fun. Then we went to sleep, after a really fun day. Aron |

Sunday, August 22, 2004 (continued)
That afternoon Jenifer and Franci helped us set up bottles with messages in them. We are going to put the three bottles in the Missouri at Three Forks. The messages ask the finder to contact Aron, who will write down where and when the bottle was found, and will ask the finder to seal the bottle and put it back in the water. Maybe one will go all the way to New Orleans! |
